I had to go to Penose to pick up my LCD monitor this afternoon. I finished work at four, changed and cycled home. After mucking around a bit I left home at 4:30. I spent about 5 minutes at Zcom computers (can't recommend them) and got back home at 6:05. Ninety-five minutes to do what should have taken, off peak, twenty-five to thirty minutes.
Zcom was frustrating. No one I spoke too spoke English well. My ex had mentioned how bad they were when he took my first monitor back to them (I had a zero dead/bright pixel guarantee which it didn't achieve and I had it replaced.) When I first visited I found a sign to reception upstairs. They directed me downstairs. With no signs I went to the counter near the bottom of the stairs. That was warehouse despatch (I think). They directed me to support around further. Today I went straight to support. They directed me to despatch. After getting my monitor I said I wanted to see it working before leaving. They directed me to support. At support the person there answered the phone as I arrived. Seeing I wasn't leaving after a minute or so he alerted someone in the office to my presence. Eventually the office guy understood I wanted to see my monitor working. Happy with the results I left. All I know was that they fixed it, but have no idea what the problem way. The pins in the plug seemed right so my thought is that there was a problem with the cable.
All-in-all I was probably in there only five minutes, ten most, so an unnecessary hour on the road was not appreciated.
