Abs Diet

Categories: Announcements, Fitness

Andymatic has started a Men's Fat Loss Blog, based on the Abs Diet.

Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live.

- Jim Rohn

I'd recently ordered the book and had just started reading it when he announced the blog on Tribe.net. I'm giving it a go.

I'm doing this for me, not for someone else, and not for someone I may attract. This is not a New Year's resolution that will only last a few weeks, I once resolved to give up making stupid New Year's resolutions that I would not keep but was making them simply because it was the new year and I've stuck with that. I know that my body type is attractive to some guys, and that's cool; it's just not a body type that turns me on. If everything works, will I start spending too many hours staring at myself in the mirror? The health aspect is the major factor.

My fitness is a lot better than it was eight or nine years ago. Tonight I managed one hundred crunches non stop. I remember a time when I couldn't manage twelve. Back then I had a body fat measurement and it was 23%, but only because I cycled a fair amount.

I like the feeling of fitness, and wish that somehow I had managed to enjoy it as a kid. My commuting by bicycle has helped substantially with my fitness, but it's no longer enough of a work out. I am very pleased with the results in my legs, but it hasn't done enough around the waist. It would make me feel better if I had my bike back from the shop, ah well, maybe tomorrow.

I'd already incorporated some of the principles into my diet and lifestyle, so there's not too much of a change. Once a week there's a "eat anything" meal which allows me to be sociable. But not to the extent of eating fast foods or drinking coke. I gave them up six years ago. I have smoothies only once or twice a week, so it's not a problem to have them daily, and I enjoy them. I bought some protein (whey) powder from the supermarket but slipped up, it's chocolate flavoured, not vanilla.

I've sent out a couple of emails to see how I can get a good series of body fat measurements, and I will be taking some "before" photos. Rest assured these photos will not be published until I have some after photos to show. I can't find my tape measure so I'll be picking up another of those, and the gym has some good scales so I can get a naked weight.
A few months ago I set myself some personal short term goals, and this relates to one. Another is that I will have ridden a metric century by the end of January, but that has crept up closer that I like, and me without a bike for the last month. I may be justified in extending it until the end of February.

When I mentioned to one sister-in-law the number of t-shirts I own, her response was better not gain weight then. I was the fat brother growing up, but compared to my brothers now I'm the skinny one.

I need to find out exactly what Canadian Bacon is, and what the local equivalent is.

AndyGlad to have you on board. I like the 'diet' because you get to eat all the time. And if I can still eat wheat then I'll try any diet.
