I watched Under the Tuscan Sun this afternoon. "I'll hire the muscular descendants of Roman gods to do the heavy lifting."It was great. I had recently been advised not to watch it if I was in love and I can see why.
I thought Marcello was a hunk, without realising I had recently admired him (Raoul Bova) in Alien vs. Predator.
There was only one continuity error that I noticed and a very minor one, regarding the blue vase she had. I appreciated how the director set up the old man ignoring Frances, even at the very end when you expect it to change. The moment was stronger for it. There were a couple of other shots where I thought the choices made by the director were really great, but without watching it again I couldn't say what they were.
I wandered down to the fishmonger at the mall to pick up some terakihi for dinner. There were too many people there; some chose to stand in the place where they can obstruct the most traffic; some people waddle slowly that even limping I can pass them (and they weren't even looking in the windows). The walk back, after dodging people was agony on my foot. As it heals I'm walking on it properly and that aggravates the pain. I'm also subconsciously tensing it a lot, to prevent it pronating so such and while it helps me to walk, the tension is probably not the best.
While I was at the mall I picked up a couple of old DVDs for $20 each: Highlander, and An American Werewolf in London. I watched Highlander this evening. There can be only oneIt's a great film. I haven't seen any of the sequels, but many people have said the quote There can be only one should have applied to the number of movies. I see Christopher Lambert is listed as being in Highlander 5, due out next year. Maybe some of them were good. I saw a few episodes of the TV series and enjoyed them. Looking at the credits, the fourth movie has both main actors credited.
Werewolf will be left for another day. I think I've seen it about three times.
