I saw the third X-Men movie, X-Men: The Last Stand, last night. I enjoyed it. I was aware that it deviated drastically from the storyline, but by treating it as an alternate universe, without the alien elements, I was able to enjoy it.
I knew to wait for the end of the credits, long as they were, for the coda, a brief scene including Moira MacTaggart.
I liked it when I recognised elements from the comics, and hearing standard lines were good. The new director did a good job. The X emblems seems less obvious, but I haven't determined if there were less than the first movie
I'll be buying the DVD when it comes out.
Spoilers Follow
...
An alternate origin for Jean Grey joining the school.
I knew Dark Phoenix was going to make an appearence. The scene where they had her hair looking like it was on fire was well done, lit from behind as it was.
Iceman finally icing up his own body.
Angel flying. Great wings that looked good when spread.
Hank McCoy, but as a politician instead of a scientist.
Storm's hair looked good, and the demonstration of her unconscious control of the weather.
Colossus in the Danger Room.
Kitty Pryde falling safely while carrying Iceman.
Wolverine's package! (In one scene anyway.)
