Sand Art Brownies
Ingredients
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 5/8 cup flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup dark/milk chocolate chips (I chop up melting buttons)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans
Directions
- In a clean, wide mouth 1 litre jar, layer the ingredients in the order given. Start with the salt, and end with the nuts. (Finest to coarsest.)
- Attach a decorative tag to the out side of the jar with directions.
Sand Art Brownies
- Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease one 22cm square baking pan.
- Pour the contents of the jar into a large bowl, and mix well.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2/3 cup vegetable oil, and 3 eggs. Mix until just combined.
- Pour into the prepared pan, and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Taste-tested this recipe and it was GOOD. Actually, we took our jar on a short summer road trip. It was excellent to have freshly baked brownies in a motel without having to buy an entire bag of flour, cocoa, sugar etc.
