With golden syrup for a hint of sweetness and brandy for a warm, indulgent touch, it spreads smoothly and creates beautiful swirls for a stunning presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>450g icing sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>150g butter, softened<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 tbsp golden syrup<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3-4 tbsp brandy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gradually beat the icing sugar into the butter, adding the golden syrup and enough brandy until the icing is smooth and spreadable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spread over the top and sides of the cake, swirling it with a palette knife.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>I used this on my <a href=\"http:\/\/shadowfoot.com\/recipe\/2006\/11\/20\/christmas_cake\">Christmas cake<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This Brandy Butter Icing is a luxurious topping, perfect for enhancing the flavour of your Christmas cake or any festive bake.
