Perfect with a cup of tea, these biscuits are a timeless Kiwi favourite that\u2019s sure to please.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>A recipe from my mother&#8217;s cookbook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>4 oz Butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 oz Sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd lb Flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 teaspoon Vanilla<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tablespoon Golden Syrup<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tablespoon Milk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon Baking Soda<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Tip: I tell the scales to measure in imperial units for this.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Melt butter, sugar, golden syrup, milk, and baking soda in a saucepan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stir in flour and vanilla.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roll into small balls and press with a fork.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place on a baking tray with plenty of room for them to spread.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bake for 10 minutes in a preheated <a href=\"http:\/\/shadowfoot.com\/recipe\/oven_temperatures\">moderate oven<\/a> (350\u00b0F\/175\u00b0C).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This Caramel Biscuit recipe from my mother\u2019s cookbook is quick to prepare and full of nostalgic charm.
