With a rich chocolate flavour, a touch of coconut, and a delightfully rustic texture, they\u2019re as charming as they are tasty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The method, which includes adding boiling water to the creamed mixture, is a little unusual but works perfectly, resulting in beautiful biscuits. A simple, crowd-pleasing recipe that\u2019s stood the test of time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>4 oz butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd cup sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tablespoon cocoa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 teaspoon vanilla<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc cup boiling water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00be desiccated coconut<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 teaspoon baking powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 cup flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Beat in cocoa and vanilla.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add hot water and mix until thoroughly combined.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add coconut, flour, salt, and baking powder. Beat until combined.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place in teaspoon lots on a baking tray. (They look better if they look rough.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bake in a <a href=\"http:\/\/shadowfoot.com\/recipe\/oven_temperatures\">moderate oven<\/a> (about 175\u00b0C) for about 15-18 minutes or until cooked.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Another recipe from my mother&#8217;s recipe book.
