It pours smoothly onto the cake, making it the perfect finishing touch for your favourite cakes. With just a few simple ingredients, it spreads beautifully and adds a rich, chocolaty layer of sweetness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>This recipe should be sufficient for an 20cm (8&#8243;) cake, and will have some left over if adding it to a ring cake (as pictured).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>50g (2oz) softened butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 cup icing sugar, sifted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tbsp cocoa powder, sifted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tbsp boiling water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Beat together the butter and icing sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Beat in cocoa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the boiling water and beat until creamy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour it onto your (cooled) cake, spreading as necessary.<br><!-- [adsense:] --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This icing (frosting) is very easy to make, and it simple pours smoothly onto the cake.
