Adding grated apple and carrot keeps it moist, while simple seasonings bring it all together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meatloaf bakes to tender perfection and is easy to prepare and perfect for family meals. Serve it with your favourite sides for a wholesome and satisfying dish that\u2019s sure to please!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>500g Chicken, minced (ground)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>400g Turkey, minced (ground)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 Carrot, grated<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 Apple, grated<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 Egg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 small Onion, diced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc cup Tomato Sauce (ketchup)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon Salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon crushed Garlic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd cup Breadcrumbs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preheat oven to 180\u00b0C<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use your hands and mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press into a lightly greased loaf tin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cover with tinfoil and bake for 1 hour.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove foil and bake for another 15-30 minutes. <em>(I use a meat thermometer to ensure it&#8217;s thoroughly cooked.)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stand for 10 minutes before serving.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Tip: use half a large onion, and dice and freeze the other half for use later.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This meatloaf is a great alternative for someone who doesn&#8217;t eat red meat, or wants to cut down on it.
