The recipe combines strong coffee with cocoa to create a smooth chocolate base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cupcake Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 cups hot strong coffee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 cup cocoa powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00be cups flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 teaspoons Baking Soda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00be teaspoon Baking Powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc teaspoon Salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>115g unsalted Butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 cup Sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 cups Brown Sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tablespoon Vanilla extract<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 Eggs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Tip: You can get away with salted butter by reducing the amount of salt. Butters differ in salt content; no exact rule can be given.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mix cocoa powder and coffee until it resembles a smooth chocolate sauce; set aside to cool.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a large bowl or stand mixer, cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar until nice and fluffy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add vanilla and eggs one at a time, beating well after each one. Slowly mix in sifted dry ingredients (about 2 minutes).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add chocolate-coffee mixture and mix until the batter is smooth (about 2-3 minutes).<br><em>Tip: The challenge here is being gentle and not overworking the flour while making the mixture smooth.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Line standard muffin tins with paper liners and fill with mixture until \u2154 full.<br><em>Tip: Using <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1RbjYSw\">ice cream scoops<\/a> makes using the same amount for every cupcake easy.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bake for about 10-12 minutes in an oven preheated to 180\u00b0C.
