Wanderings in Virtu and Verity

My Left Foot

That title will screw up people’s expectations in the search engines. I’m already making the title of each entry a permalink to the individual post, and as a <h2> heading it has more significance than a <h3> heading. I don’t need search engines to consider the dates to be important so that just uses <p> and CSS to style. I got the idea from Nicholas Carvan’s page but many sites describe this.

When I started this post the title did have some meaning; my broken foot is going through a pain stage. I’ve decided not to write more of a woe is me post, so I won’t go on about how my cold is getting worse. (Flowers can be sent to my home or work addresses.)

In six weeks, I will have been at my current job for four years, a record for me, surpassing the three and ten months I did in my last position in Hawkes Bay. Some of the time I spent at that company I hated; my supervisor and the owner both had the mentality of accountants, not managers. I was tied to the district nursing my mother, and there are fewer IT options in provincial towns. The redeeming feature of that job was the time I spent out of the office with clients. Part of me seems to be wired to help people and teach a man to fish principles. When I interviewed for my current job I stated my intentions to get into Project Management. I even started studying for a post-graduate diploma in It and Management at AUT. Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to do much project planning here, but my Business Analysis skills have improved.
