I saw Touching the Void tonight. Bloody Hell! The true story of a mountain climb gone wrong. Joe Simpson is an amazing man to push himself so far. He broke his leg at 20,000 feet, and while being lowered down the mountain got in such a position that his partner cut the rope to survive. He crawled back to the base camp alone, days after his partner made it there thinking Joe was dead.
On Sunday I saw Underworld . It’s a good action/horror/gangster movie. A couple of stunts at the end were a bit over the top and wires were obviously used just to move the people that way, but it’s a minor quibble. I appreciated the way the vampires and lycanthropes had the traditional weaknesses.
I also saw The Punisher. I wasn’t a great fan of the comic, but what I saw matched my recollection of the few stories I read. Enjoyable, and some nice explosions. Have I said I like explosions in movies?
