Cycle paths are to bicycling like bunny slopes are to downhill skiing. Nobody is going to be serious about downhill skiing long-term without leaving the bunny slopes, and getting comfortable on the real terrain. And nobody is going to be serious about cycling long-term without leaving the cycle paths, and getting comfortable on the real terrain – cycling in traffic.
